The Jenner Centre – DD9 Connections Issue No 29

,

We held a very successful Macmillan coffee morning on 18th October and raised a magnificent £670. We were very grateful for the large number of donated raffle prizes – some are still to be claimed and are waiting at the Jenner Centre. (they may belong to people who left before the raffle was drawn)

Orange — 941, 947, 949, 951, 958, Yellow – 952,  Green – 356

There is an increasing number of people coming to the Jenner Centre. They come to take part in the various sessions, to use the services on offer or are looking for answers to all sorts of things. Whatever we offer at the Jenner Centre, the bottom line has always been friendly chat and support, finding out what’s important to you and making connections.

Both monthly groups, Cancer Support and Dementia Carers Support, have steady numbers who all seem to feel at ease using the premises. Indeed the Cancer Support Group have decided they need a tea cosy to keep the tea warm while the chat continues.

Digital Skills will be returning after the New Year, holding monthly sessions. It was much appreciated before with individual needs catered for. It might be a single query to be resolved or it might go on to open a whole new world. Whatever you need, this is the place to be. Watch out for dates and contact us for a place.

Also coming in the New Year are sessions to be held by Citizens Advice. At their Open Day at the Jenner Centre on Thursday 27 November (11am -2pm – see flyer in this Issue) you will discover the wide range of support CAB can offer. This might be to do with money, consumer problems, legal support, health costs (eg dental) and work issues to name a few.

We’ll be closing for a few days around Christmas and New Year – it’ll mainly be Footcare, (your appointment will reflect this) Hearing Aid services – make sure you have enough batteries – and the Seated Exercise; but we’ll update our opening hours nearer the time.

Thank you all for your company, support and friendship over the past year. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy 2026.
