A big thank you

Brechin Healthcare Group (BHG) wants to give a massive thank you to Amanda Mottram, Lee-Ann Gunn, 3 guest instructors and the ladies of Brechin for their 90 minutes of Zumba on Saturday 22nd February raising money for the Jenner Centre. The wonderful and successful evening of energetic dance and Zumba fitness raised £313 from tickets and the raffle, and Adrian Mottram from Angus Classic Interiors Ltd had pledged to match the takings, making the total £626. Not too bad for 90 minutes of dancing !!!

The money raised will be part of the funding towards the setting up of, ‘The Jenner Centre’, named after the Jenners who were GPs in Brechin in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. The centre, staffed by health professionals and trained volunteers, will provide local support for people facing complex and long-term medical conditions who may not have the energy or the resources to travel to get support.

The centre will offer a listening ear in comfy surroundings, encourage gentle exercise, make connections with other relevant services and agencies and encourage a positive and beneficial lifestyle to reduce problems. It is hoped the centre will open in Brechin by the end of April and its future reviewed in August.

Thank you to all who participated and came along to support BHG, to the amazing instructors whose energetic and fun routines motivated all, to the two special guests Chris Chittell and Lesley Dunlop of Emmerdale fame, and to Adrian Mottram for his support and generosity.
