Meet our Trustees

Lindsay Cameron…

Last year I retired from the Crofts Veterinary Centre in Brechin, after thirty years as assistant, partner and, latterly, owner of the business. My duties there included working with pets, farm animals, horses and game birds. I was also involved in the veterinary/public health aspects of supervision of Brechin Abattoir for many years . Previous to moving to Brechin in 1988 I had worked in Cockermouth, Dundee, and Brampton (near Carlisle).

I am from an Angus family, and can trace the work of two of my great grandfathers around the Brechin area. I was born in the Fyfe Jamieson, Forfar, while my parents were living in Kirriemuir. The family moved to Dundee soon after, where I attended Clepington Primary School and then Morgan Academy. I then trained at Edinburgh University’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. Whilst at University, I met Alison, to whom I have been married for thirty three years. We have two grown up children, who both live and work in Aberdeen.

I played rugby for many years, including for Morgan FP’s, and Langholm. I was involved in the establishment of Brechin Junior Rugby Club, and coached there for many years. I then went on to coach at Angus Colts Rugby. I have also been involved with Brechin Beavers and Brechin Cycling Club, and, more recently, Brechin Photographic Society. My other interests include Historical Re-enactment, walking, caravanning, and gardening.

Having been saddened by the decline in healthcare facilities in and around Brechin, I have joined Brechin Healthcare Group to work towards  improving health and wellbeing in the area.
